Selco was originally formed in 1895 and is a growing company selling construction supplies to businesses in the trade. The company are investing in Nottingham and will be opening a new store on Mar City Park (Basford Road, Radford) in April 2009.

 MTC are working with Selco on the job opportunities they're creating:

  • The 1st Phase of recruitment will cover the management/supervisory team and recruitment to these posts will take place early in the autumn
  • The second phase of recruitment will be for shop floor, sales, yard and fork lift truck staff, with up to 30 vacancies needing to be filled.

 

Recruitment is scheduled to start later in the autumn, and MTC will be working closely with them to ensure local people benefit.

 

Selco offer great packages for their staff and are committed to ongoing development.  All new staff will be trained at another store before the Nottingham store opens in April 09.  In addition there's ongoing development through online distance learning, competitive starting salaries, a bonus scheme and staff discounts.

esf projects announced

The LSC and JobCentre Plus have announced the successful providers from their recent ESF bidding rounds. 

 

Working Links will deliver the Employability Flexible Routeways (jobmaets) contract in conjunction with Enable.  This will provide employability advice and support through a network of advisors across the County.  Working Links are in early discussions with partners about geography and activity.

 

There are six providers of the LSC's Skills for Jobs programme:

 

  • Tribal

  • Care Training

  • Framework

  • Guideline Careers Service

  • Nottingham Women's Centre

  • Stephenson College

 

These providers are meeting regularly with Working Links to make sure that their programmes fit with the Jobmaets activity and give a comprehensive service to clients across the County.
