MTC PARTNERSHIP

Making the Connection is a cohesive way of working, characterised by multi-agency partnership working.

The MTC model is a partnership driven, holistic approach to maximising the benefits for local communities as a result of developments at key strategic sites across Nottinghamshire and North East Derbyshire.

MTC activities reflect business expansions and the changing needs of the business base in these areas and the requirements for a skilled and adaptable workforce.

To this end, the MTC Core Teams are comprised of both full time MTC designated staff and seconded members of project-specific support staff from partner organisations, such as LSC and JCP. Active partners are those organisations which are working with MTC to support a specific goal or initiative.

OUR AIMS & VISION

MTC aims to work simultaneously to accommodate the workforce needs of employers and to maximise opportunities for local communities.

Our vision is to create a seamless service that matches labour market demand and supply within Nottinghamshire and North East Derbyshire.

DESIRED OUTCOMES

MTC aims to ensure the communities within Nottinghamshire and North East Derbyshire, and particularly those most disadvantaged, have the access to support and training which enables them to take advantage of the employment opportunities presented at key strategic sites.

By developing such an approach, the objective is to ensure the demands for skills requirements of both existing employers looking to expand their workforce and investors looking to locate or relocate in the area are met.

MTC is charged with:

  • Creating a co-ordinated, seamless service that matches the demand and supply side of the labour markets within Nottinghamshire and North East Derbyshire.

  •  Developing, delivering and sustaining a multi-agency approach that ensures local people benefit from the changing labour market(s) within these areas.

  • Developing the skills of all people within the sub-regions, particularly in the area's most disadvantaged communities, to meet the demands of the changing local economy.

  • Addressing economic inactivity, supporting and enabling workless/long term unemployed local people to return to the labour market and benefit from local employment opportunities.
