WHAT IS A SKILLS PLEDGE?
Skills Pledges are signed by employers to show that they are committed to developing their workforce and that they will support their employees to achieve at least Level 2 (NVQ) or equivalent qualifications. Skills Pledges have to be signed by Chief Executives or owners of companies, and organisations of any size from the public, private and voluntary sectors can take part.
Organisations can access government funding to train any staff up to Level 2 through the Train to Gain programme - in most cases the training will be free to both the company and the individual.
